Pre-Texts is a teacher-training program and a flexible approach to teaching that develops avid and creative readers by using challenging texts as a
prompt for making art.
Pre-Texts – Mexico CityThe arts become vehicles for academic learning to promote passionate engagement for teachers and students in all grade levels and socioeconomic environments. Pre-Texts is a flexible approach to teaching that integrates three areas of development: literacy, innovation, and citizenship. Through art-making workshops, we train teachers to be facilitators for students’ close reading and ownership of challenging texts.
